follow.it Lifetime Deal Review: Honest Pros, Cons & Is It Worth $49?

How many tabs do you open every morning just to see what’s new? Industry blogs, competitor sites, a few YouTube channels, maybe an uptime check on your own website. Most of the time, nothing important has changed, and you’ve lost 30 minutes.

follow.it is a feed reader and monitoring hub that brings all of that to one place. It follows websites (even ones without RSS), YouTube channels, podcasts and special “API feeds” for things like SSL expiry or exchange rates. Then it filters the noise with keywords or AI and delivers what’s left by email, Telegram, Slack, RSS or push alerts.

The follow.it lifetime deal starts at $49 on AppSumo. Before you read further, two things you should know: the deal ends before Black Friday, and many of its reviews were incentivized. Let’s go through both, plus whether it’s worth the money.

⏰ Heads-up: AppSumo lists this deal as ending on November 25, 2026 (11:59 pm CT), two days before Black Friday. If you want it, don’t wait for the Black Friday sale.

What follow.it actually does for you

1. Follow almost anything in one hub

Add websites, blogs, YouTube channels and podcasts. If a site has no RSS feed, follow.it tries to create one for you, and its Website Changes Tracker can watch pages for edits. Beyond content, it has “number feeds” (exchange rates, commodity prices) and API feeds for website uptime, SSL/TLS expiry, domain changes, GitHub and WordPress plugin updates.

2. Filter out the noise

Every feed can be filtered by keyword, tag or author, or with an AI prompt like “only product launches, no opinion pieces.” One reviewer follows a security vulnerability feed but only gets alerts about WordPress core, not plugins. That kind of precise filtering is the real value here.

3. Get updates where you already are

You choose how each feed reaches you: instant emails, a daily “Newspaper” digest, a weekly “Magazine”, Telegram, Slack, browser push or the mobile app. You can also save stories, build a personal news page, or send stories to Buffer to share on social media.

The good stuff (what buyers love)

  • Delivery flexibility. Most readers make you open their app. follow.it sends updates to email, Telegram or Slack, which reviewers say other readers only offer on expensive plans.
  • More than RSS. Uptime, SSL, price and YouTube alerts in the same place as your news.
  • An established product. follow.it has been around since 2016, and buyers from an earlier deal say their accounts still work fine.
  • A responsive founder. Several buyers praise how quickly the founder answers and takes feature ideas on board.
  • An Inoreader replacement for some. One reviewer who paid for Inoreader for four years switched, while another said the two feel quite different, so it depends on how you read.

The not-so-good stuff (read this before you buy)

  • Treat the rating with care. The deal shows 4.86 stars from 122 reviews, but about half of the reviews we could load are marked “incentivized” by AppSumo. One 2-star reviewer called it a “glorified RSS feed checker” and complained about reviews being rewarded.
  • Not every site can be followed. That same reviewer’s first website couldn’t be turned into a feed. It depends on how the site is built.
  • The interface can feel busy. Reviewers found the My News view overwhelming and the Find Feeds screen crowded, and some searches for podcasts and topics returned few results.
  • Some features feel unfinished. API and MCP access, webhooks and folders are still “coming”, and you can’t follow Facebook or Instagram accounts.
  • One user per plan, and the deal is only for brand-new follow.it accounts.
  • Future AI models may cost extra, according to the deal terms.

Is the follow.it lifetime deal worth it? Let’s do the math

Each AppSumo tier maps to a monthly plan on follow.it’s official pricing page:

AppSumo tierPlanRSS feedsAI processing / moMonthly priceBreak-even
Tier 1: $49Hello500100$5~10 months
Tier 2: $99Basic1,000500$10~10 months
Tier 3: $199Standard3,0001,000$20~10 months
Tier 4: $299Pro8,0003,000$40~7.5 months

follow.it is already cheap month to month, so the lifetime deal takes 7 to 10 months to pay off. That’s slower than most AppSumo deals, but it’s still a good saving if you plan to use it for years. There’s also a free plan with 100 RSS feeds and basic filters, so try the free plan first if you’re not sure.

Which tier of the follow.it lifetime deal? Tier 1 covers most people who just want a smarter feed reader. Tier 2 is worth it if you rely on AI filters and summaries daily, and it’s where the founder plans to add API and MCP access. Tier 4 only makes sense for heavy monitoring with thousands of sources.

Should you grab the follow.it lifetime deal before it ends?

Yes, if you…

  • follow lots of blogs, news sites or YouTube channels for work
  • prefer getting updates in email, Telegram or Slack instead of another app
  • pay for Feedly or Inoreader and mostly use it for reading and filtering
  • want simple uptime, SSL or domain alerts in the same place

Skip it if you…

  • need a team account or a working API today
  • want to follow Facebook or Instagram accounts
  • need serious website monitoring (a dedicated uptime tool is better)
  • already have a follow.it account (the deal is for new users only)

My honest take

follow.it is a genuinely useful tool from an established company. The way it filters feeds and delivers them wherever you work is better than most feed readers, and the extra monitoring feeds are a nice bonus.

But don’t buy it because of the near-perfect rating; a lot of those reviews were incentivized. Buy it if you already know you want a smarter feed reader. Start with the free plan, check that your key sites can be followed, and remember the follow.it lifetime deal ends on November 25. You still have 60 days to get a refund if it doesn’t fit.

FAQs

Is follow.it a good Feedly alternative?

For reading and filtering feeds, yes, especially if you like getting updates by email, Telegram or Slack. Feedly is stronger for teams and in-depth research.

Can follow.it follow websites without RSS?

Often, yes. It tries to create a feed automatically, and its Website Changes Tracker can watch a page. It doesn’t work on every site, so test your key sources on the free plan.

When does the follow.it deal end?

AppSumo lists the end date as November 25, 2026, at 11:59 pm Central Time, before Black Friday.

Can I get a refund?

Yes. AppSumo gives you 60 days to request a refund on the follow.it lifetime deal.
